While the chair is structurally sound the seat would need to be replaced if you wished to use it. If you were to do so you should try to keep the Bunting Glider cover. Mission Style Oak Rocking Chair. The J.R. Bunting Company® (later renamed the Bunting Metal Glider Company) was established in Pennsylvania in the early 20th century. Bunting is renown today for its vintage metal gliders and other metal furniture and accouterments. The company reached its peak in the post war boom years, filing over 30 design patents on chairs, chaise lounges, gliders, and all manner of metal furniture improvements and innovations. Many have fond memories of sitting on their grandparents front porch on the Bunting Glider, or reclining in Bunting chairs.
